When is YSSS 2024?
The program will run from July 8, 2024 to July 26, 2024.

How do students apply?
The YSSS program will send each of the scholars in this cohort a link to apply at the beginning of March 2024. If your scholar has not received the information, please contact Lisa Muller at lisa.muller@uconn.edu.
What should students bring?
Students should bring essential items such as
- Laptop
- 1-2 Dress outfits for Academic Showcase and one other formal event
- Sneakers
- Appropriate clothing
- Sweatshirt/jacket
- Toiletries
- Laundry detergent
- Backpack
- School supplies

Where can I send packages?

Mail is delivered every weekday to the YSSS office and will be delivered from there to the residence hall on weekday afternoons. Please note that we do not receive mail on weekends.
Where will students live?
Students will live in a residence hall on the University of Connecticut campus. Students will be housed in a suite with 2-3 other students, sharing a bathroom. Additionally, students will be provided with 3 meals a day that they will choose from menu selections at a dining hall on campus.

When can I visit?
Parents and other family members may visit on weekends, depending on the participants' schedules. Students will be partaking in mandatory college prep programming from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation on weekends.
Participants may not have visits from friends, unless the friends accompany a participant’s parents to campus.
Visitors may only visit the common areas of the residence hall and may not go onto a participant’s floor. The only exception to this rule is on move-in day (July 7) and move-out day (July 27). Visitors are not permitted to stay overnight in the residence hall.
